A memorial celebrating the life of a District scientist stands at the Tampa Service Office.

Amy Remley was an environmental scientist in the District’s Surface Water Improvement and Management (SWIM) program of the Resource Management Department.

Remley’s life was cut short after being involved in a tragic car accident while on District business.

District staff, along with the Governing Board, recently dedicated a memorial at the Tampa Service Office in her memory. Remley was an avid kayaker, and in a fitting tribute, David Moore, executive director, read one of her favorite poems, “Everything I Need to Know I Learned in a Kayak.”
