The District’s Bartow Service Office is a safe place to work; just ask the Tampa Area Safety Council.
The council in May presented the District with first place in its 2005 Occupational Safety Contest and first place in the 2005 Fleet Safety Contest. The Bartow Service Office had no reported incidents in either category for 2005. This information is reported separately for each service office and the District’s headquarters in Brooksville.
Approximately 20 public and private organizations in the Tampa Bay area participate in these safety contests each year.
Bill Wood and Dave Testerman, both senior field technicians from the Bartow Service Office, accepted the awards on behalf of the District at the safety council’s annual safety awards luncheon. Ilka Linhart, risk and safety analyst, also represented the District at the event.
