The District’s Employee Committee served breakfast to their fellow employees this August to show the committee’s appreciation for staff involvement and financial support throughout the year. A breakfast was held at the District’s headquarters and each service office.

“Without our fellow employees’ outstanding dedication, contributions and help, the committee would not be able to function as successfully as we do,” said Tammy Antoine, Employee Committee president. “The annual appreciation breakfast is just one way the committee says thank you to the employees for helping make our mission statement a reality.”

Meanwhile, the Employee Committee is in its 13th year of coordinated holiday season benevolent activities. District employees support a variety of charitable organizations during the holiday season, but the main goal of the benevolent efforts is to help employees, their families and their friends and neighbors. Families are referred anonymously. Please contact Josie Guillen, benevolent coordinator, at 1-800-423-1476, ext. 4227, to refer a family.

Funds raised from the District’s annual Senior Staff Auction, held in October, support this program.

In addition to “adopting” families, there will be drives to collect nonperishable food and personal care items. The first was held for the Arcadia Center for the Needy, and the second is for the Dawn Center in Hernando County. Containers for donations are located at the District’s headquarters in Brooksville and at each participating service office.

District staff should contact their Employee Committee representative for more information on holiday season benevolent activities.
