December 6, 2005 – The Southwest Florida Water Management District’s Withlacoochee River Basin Board will hold its December meeting at the Villages.The meeting will be held Thursday, Dec. 15 at 9 a.m. at the Coconut Cove Recreation Center, 1398 Stillwater Trail.

October 10, 2005 – The Southwest Florida Water Management District will be treating water hyacinths and water lettuce on portions of the Braden River Oct. 17-20. The sites are located south of State Road 70 in Manatee County.

October 10, 2005 – The Southwest Florida Water Management District will be treating hydrilla in Marion County Oct. 17-20. Infestations of hydrilla will be treated on the Rainbow River from the County Road 484 bridge to where the river meets the Withlacoochee River.

September 26, 2005 – The Southwest Florida Water Management District Governing Board Tuesday adopted the agency’s Fiscal Year (FY) 2006 millage rates and combined budget. The District’s millage rate remains the same as last year for the General Fund.
