Upper Peace River MFL Peer Review Panel - Meeting 5

The Southwest Florida Water Management District is currently developing new minimum flow standards for the Upper Peace River. Minimum flows are intended to prevent significant harm to the water resources or ecology of an area that may be caused by water withdrawals. 

The draft minimum flows report for the Upper Peace River, along with the scientific or technical data, methodologies, models, and assumptions used to support the development of proposed minimum flows, is voluntarily subjected to independent scientific peer review. The peer review is conducted by a panel of recognized experts in fields relevant to the development of minimum flows.

Lakes Angelo and Denton Minimum Levels Public Meeting

The District is scheduled to adopt new minimum levels for Lake Angelo and Lake Denton, which are located in northern Highlands County. Minimum Flows and Levels are a protective measure used by the District for water use permitting, water supply planning and environmental resource permitting. 

This meeting is open to the public and the purpose is to share the proposed new minimum lake levels and accept public comments for consideration. More information and draft reports about the proposed minimum levels are available on the website
