One Familiar Face and Three New Members Appointed to Governing Board

The District’s Governing Board has three new members and one returning member this spring. Governor Jeb Bush reappointed Edward W. Chance and appointed Jennifer Closshey, Neil Combee and Todd Pressman to the District’s Governing Board in April.

Edward W. Chance of Palmetto, retired, was reappointed for a term beginning April 14 and ending March 1, 2009. He has served on the Governing Board since September 2000. Chance will also continue his responsibilities as co-chair ex officio of the District’s Manasota Basin Board.

Jennifer E. Closshey of Plant City was appointed to succeed Maggie Dominguez, whose term expired March 1, 2005. Closshey is president of Ideas and Innovations, Inc. She was appointed for a term beginning April 14 and ending March 1, 2009. Closshey will assume responsibility as chair ex officio of the District’s Northwest Hillsborough Basin Board.

Neil Combee of Lakeland was appointed to succeed Ronald Johnson, whose term expired March 1, 2005. Combee is a cattleman and a realtor with Century Companies. He was appointed for a term beginning April 14 and ending March 1, 2009. Combee will assume responsibility as co-chair ex officio of the District’s Peace River Basin Board.

Todd Pressman of Palm Harbor was appointed to succeed Ronnie Duncan, who stepped down in December 2005 when he was elected as a Pinellas County Commissioner. Pressman is president of Pressman and Associates, Inc. He was appointed for a term beginning April 14 and ending March 1, 2006. Pressman will assume responsibility as co-chair ex officio of the District’s Pinellas-Anclote River Basin Board.

The board members were sworn in at the April Governing Board meeting.
