The Southwest Florida Water Management District celebrated the one year anniversary of the Water Program for Restaurant Outreach (Water PRO) by signing its 200th restaurant.Water PRO, which was launched last May, is a free program that helps restaurants conserve water by educating staff and customers. Scientists with the District’s Surface Water Improvement and Management (SWIM) Program are optimistic about an overall increase in the growth of seagrass in Tampa Bay, as well as nearby Sarasota Bay, Charlotte Harbor and St. Joseph Sound. Board members, staff, architects, contractors and other interested parties gathered September 13 to cut the ribbon on the 26,500-square-foot Tampa Service Office building with an additional 3,000-square-foot storage and utility mezzanine.
