As Water Resources bureau chief, Jay Hoecker, is responsible for management and oversight of regional water supply planning; water supply and resource development projects; economics and demography; and water conservation, reclaimed water, and septic to sewer conversion projects.
Hoecker joined the District in 2012 as a water supply specialist, then moved to the Project Management Office and returned to the Water Supply Section in 2018 as the section manager. He has led several large initiatives during his tenure at the District, including the Cooperative Funding Initiative Program, and has participated in several large-scale planning efforts, such as the Central Florida Water Initiative.
Hoecker earned a bachelor’s degree in environmental science and policy and a Master of Business Administration, both from the University of South Florida. He also is a certified Project Management Professional.
Hoecker is currently the Secretary and Treasurer of WateReuseFlorida.
