Devon Villareal has 20 years of experience in water resource management, including nine years with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection overseeing the development of central sewer systems and Advanced Wastewater Treatment in the Florida Keys, and eight years in water and wastewater compliance with an expanding rural utility. She is currently the Water Supply Supervisor in the Southwest Florida Water Management District’s Water Resources Bureau.
Devon has a bachelor’s degree in environmental science and policy from the University of South Florida and a master’s degree in soil, water, and ecosystem sciences from the University of Florida. She holds a Class C Domestic Wastewater Operator License, is a Florida Water and Pollution Control Operators Association certified instructor and is a former QA/QC Officer for a National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Conference certified environmental laboratory.
Devon has served as the District Liaison for the Florida Section of the American Water Works Association Region IV, is an active member of WateReuse Florida, and is a longtime volunteer at an environmental education-based youth camp in Wekiwa Springs State Park.
