Some people dive for treasure, Adam Hange dives for trash.
The Field Services supervisor recently participated in the Dive Against Debris event at Spanish Rock Reef in Holmes Beach in Manatee County. The event is sponsored by the Tampa Bay Green Consortium and uses volunteers to remove trash from Gulf water.
Hange and the other divers retrieved 35 pounds of trash during the event, significantly less than prior dives. Past dive cleanups in Tampa Bay recently removed… Read more

The Southwest Florida Water Management District Governing Board approved the purchase of two Peace River islands consisting of approximately 61.51 acres of uplands in Charlotte and DeSoto counties.
