Governing Board approves Weeki Wachee agreements
The Southwest Florida Water Management District Governing Board voted unanimously today to approve two agreements that will pave the way for Weeki Wachee Springs to become a state park.

The Southwest Florida Water Management District will be treating water hyacinth and water lettuce on portions of Shell and Prairie creeks Jan. 28-31. The sites are located upstream of the Henderson Dam in Charlotte County.
Project will improve Hudson Bayou water quality
The Southwest Florida Management District and Sarasota County are working together on a project that will improve water quality by treating stormwater runoff within the Hudson Bayou watershed.

The Southwest Florida Water Management District will be treating water hyacinth and water lettuce on portions of the Manatee River Jan. 14-17. The treatment areas are located south of State Road 64 in Manatee County.
District to treat water lettuce on the Rainbow River
The Southwest Florida Water Management District will be treating infestations of water lettuce on the Rainbow River in Marion County Jan. 14-17. The treatment area is from the Rio Vista area to the Withlacoochee River.
District speakers available to discuss the drought

Public input welcome at Citrus County Task Force meeting
The public is invited to share ideas concerning potential water resources restoration projects at the upcoming Citrus County Task Force meeting.The meeting is being held Monday, Jan. 14, 3 p.m. in Room 166 of the Lecanto Government Building, 3600 West Sovereign Path, Lecanto, Florida.
