District declares April Water Conservation Month
The Southwest Florida Water Management District’s Governing Board Tuesday joined Gov. Charlie Crist, the state Legislature, Tampa Bay Water and approximately 183 local governments and organizations in declaring April “Water Conservation Month.”
Controlled burns scheduled for District land in Hernando County
The Southwest Florida Water Management District will be conducting “controlled, prescribed burns” during the rest of March and April on the District’s Weekiwachee Preserve and the Annuteliga Hammock.

The Southwest Florida Water Management District will be conducting “controlled, prescribed burns” during the rest of March and April on the District’s Halpata Tastanaki Preserve. The property is approximately six miles east of Dunnellon.
