Brian J. Aungst Jr. of Clearwater is an attorney and shareholder at Macfarlane Ferguson & McMullen.
Aungst was appointed to the Governing Board in January 2026, and his term expires March 1, 2026.
Aungst has extensive experience representing health care systems and medical providers as well as community institutions and governmental entities.
In addition to the District’s Governing Board, Aungst was appointed by the governor to serve on the Juvenile Welfare Board of Pinellas County and served as the chair from 2017 to 2019. He is active in the Amplify Clearwater Chamber of Commerce, the YMCA of the Suncoast and the First United Methodist Church of Clearwater.
Aungst earned bachelor’s degrees in telecommunications-news and political science as well as his juris doctor from the University of Florida in Gainesville. He is a member of the Florida Bar.
Aungst represents Pinellas County.
