District lands are acquired to preserve and protect water resources and natural systems while also providing public access for recreation. The District adopts land management plans for each property to ensure they are managed in ways that are consistent with Florida Statutes and the District’s mission. The District is holding a virtual public meeting Thursday, July 20, 2023, at 6 p.m. to discuss the District’s land management plans being updated in 2023. District staff will give a presentation covering each of the land management plans and proposed updates. The public will have an opportunity to speak and ask questions about the proposed plans. The updated land management plans will be presented to the District's Governing Board at the August 22 board meeting. The plans will then be eligible for a vote of approval at the September 26 board meeting. All Governing Board meetings are listed on the District's calendar.
