Member Cities of the East Pasco Water Coalition Offering Low-Flow Toilet Rebates

News Release

The "Southwest Florida Water Management District":http://www.watermatters.org and participating members of the East Pasco Water Coalition are offering water customers rebates of up to $100 for replacing their high-flow toilets.

Replacing older high-flow toilets with water-efficient toilets could save an estimated 27 gallons per household or 10,000 gallons per year. About 9,500 homes in the Town of Saint Leo and the cities of Zephyrhills and Dade City are eligible for participation in the program.

Customers must live within the corporate boundaries of one of the participating cities and be served by the public supply distribution systems of the respective cities to be eligible for the rebate. The toilet being replaced must be made and installed before 1995 and use approximately 3.5 gallons of water or more per flush.

Educational information also will be provided to customers about water conservation, which will include leak detection and the proper selection of parts for water-saving toilets.

The total cost of this project is $36,000. It is being funded by the District in cooperation with the participating cities.
