Polk County Utilities customers may be eligible for a $50 rain sensor rebate from the utility and the "Southwest Florida Water Management District(Southwest Florida Water Management District)":http://watermatters.org, which could save them up to 100 gallons of water per day.
The District and Polk County Utilities have joined forces to offer rebates to Polk utility customers who add a rain sensor to their irrigation system.
The rain sensor rebate is intended to help 1,295 participants save up to 100 gallons of "water(Water Conservation)":http://www.swfwmd.state.fl.us/conservation per day, or nearly 130,000 gallons of water per day countywide.
Polk County Utilities residential or business water customers who have "irrigation systems(Saving water outdoors)":http://www.swfwmd.state.fl.us/conservation/outdoors installed before Jan. 1, 1991 and do not have a working rain sensor can participate. Customers must submit an application form with purchase documentation and receive approval before they can get a rebate. All program guidelines, including a post-installation inspection, must also be followed. Customers can call Polk County Utilities at 863-298-4100 to get a rebate application.
