Springs Restoration Continues with $20.4 million investment in District Projects »
The Florida Department of Environmental Protection and District have approved five springs restoration projects in Citrus, Hernando and Marion counties. These projects will receive more than $13.4 million in state funding from Governor Rick Scott’s 2015-16 “Keep Florida Working” budget. District's Aerial Burn an Exercise in Efficiency »
District staff recently held an aerial prescribed burn at the Green Swamp. The burn was held in conjunction with the Florida Forest Service as an ongoing effort to share resources with other agencies. Aerial burns are efficient ways to carry out prescribed burns because they target a larger amount of acreage than a traditional prescribed fire in a shorter amount of time.
