Daughters and Sons To Work Day

Who:
Southwest Florida Water Management District Staff and approximately 70 children

What:
The District’s 10th Annual “Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day”

Students between the ages of 9 and 18 will spend the day at the District Headquarters and Service Offices learning about activities at the District. At 9 a.m. staff will lead the kids through a water resources exercise. After completing the hands-on project, parents/guardians are invited to bring their children to six different department exhibits and demonstrations until noon. The children will “job shadow” their parents/guardians after lunch.

When:
Thursday, April 27, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Where:
Southwest Florida Water Management District, Brooksville Headquarters

Why:
“Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day” is a nationwide learning program that allows children to explore the many opportunities available to them in the workplace. The program began as “Take Our Daughters to Work Day” in 1994 and grew to include sons.
