City of Frostproof Offering Low-Flow Toilet Rebates

News Release

The "Southwest Florida Water Management District ":http://www.watermatters.org and the City of Frostproof are offering Frostproof Utilities customers rebates of up to $100 for replacing their high-flow toilets.

Replacing older high-flow toilets with water-efficient toilets could save an estimated 1,350 gallons per day or nearly half a million gallons per year. About 1,000 homes are eligible in the city's service areas for participation in the program.

Customers must be current residents of the City of Frostproof or located within its surrounding service area to be eligible for the rebate. The toilets must be made and installed before 1995 and use 3.5 gallons of water or more per flush.

Educational information also will be provided to customers about water conservation, which will include leak detection and the proper selection of parts for water-saving toilets.

The total cost of this project is $5,700. It is being funded by the District in cooperation with the City of Frostproof.
