September 6, 2006 – Two water management districts are teaming up to offer a variety of interactive games and exercises at the 5th Annual Marion County Springs Festival.

September 5, 2006 – The Southwest Florida Water Management District and the Town of Indian Shores recently signed an agreement to move forward on the fourth phase of a water quality improvement project that will collect and treat stormwater runoff prior to discharging into the Intracoastal Waterway.

August 31, 2006 – The deadline to apply for a Community Education Grant through the Southwest Florida Water Management District is approaching. Grant applications are due Sept. 15, 2006.

August 24, 2006 – The Southwest Florida Water Management District’s Withlacoochee River Basin Board Thursday adopted a fiscal year 2007 (FY2007) millage rate of 0.265 mill, which is the same as the current fiscal year.

August 22, 2006 – The Southwest Florida Water Management District will be treating water hyacinth and water lettuce on portions of Shell Creek and Prairie Creek Aug. 28-31. The sites are located upstream of the Henderson Dam in Charlotte County.
