Governor Appoints Robert Boos and Reappoints Robert Stern to the District’s Governing Board

Governor Ron DeSantis appointed Robert Boos and reappointed Robert Stern to the Southwest Florida Water Management District’s Governing Board. Boos represents Pinellas County and Stern represents Hillsborough County.

Boos, of Clearwater, is the Co-Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of Boos Development Group, Inc. Boos earned his bachelor’s degree in marketing from Florida State University and his master’s degree in business administration from the University of South Florida. Boos is appointed to a term ending March 1, 2030.

Stern, of Tampa, is a Shareholder at Trenam Law. Stern earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration and his juris doctor from the University of Florida. Stern was appointed to the Governing Board in February 2023 and is reappointed to a four-year term ending March 1, 2030.

The appointments are subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.

Governing Board members are unpaid, citizen volunteers who are appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Florida Senate. The Governing Board sets policy for the District, whose mission is to manage the water and related resources of west central Florida to meet the needs of current and future water users while protecting the environment.
