Florida-Friendly Landscaping™

Program Overview

Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ is a set of nine guiding principles which help protect natural resources and preserve Florida’s unique beauty. A Florida-friendly landscape is beautiful yet saves water and protects the environment too.

The University of Florida’s Florida Yards & Neighborhoods (FYN) Program provides science-based education on how to create a Florida-friendly yard. For more information on specific landscaping topics or workshops, contact your county’s Extension office. Phone numbers can be found on the flier to the right along with the nine principles.
