The Southwest Florida Water Management District (District) will hold a public meeting on Thursday, July 19 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the SouthShore Regional Library of Hillsborough County in Community Room 2, located at 15816 Beth Shields Way in Ruskin. The purpose of the meeting is for the public to learn more about the proposed restoration plans for public properties along the Little Manatee River.
The Little Manatee River Corridor Restoration Project is a collaborative effort between the District’s Surface Water Improvement and Management (SWIM) Program and the Conservation and Environmental Lands Management Department of Hillsborough County. The project will involve the potential restoration and enhancement of estuarine, freshwater and upland sites within a 7,400-acre network of public preservation lands along the Little Manatee River.
The meeting will run as an open house format with displays of proposed restoration plans for the corridor. District staff will be joined by members of the Conservation and Environmental Lands Management Department of Hillsborough County and Cardno, Inc.
