Project will improve Hudson Bayou water quality »
– The Southwest Florida Management District and Sarasota County are working together on a project that will improve water quality by treating stormwater runoff within the Hudson Bayou watershed.
Drought information and water conservation a part of Heritage Festival »
– Information on how residents can conserve water during the drought will be a focal point at this year’s Tampa Bay Black Heritage Festival being held Jan. 19-20 at Al Lopez Park in Tampa.
District to treat Manatee River for water hyacinth and water lettuce »
– The Southwest Florida Water Management District will be treating water hyacinth and water lettuce on portions of the Manatee River Jan. 14-17. The treatment areas are located south of State Road 64 in Manatee County.

– The Southwest Florida Water Management District will be treating infestations of water lettuce on the Rainbow River in Marion County Jan. 14-17. The treatment area is from the Rio Vista area to the Withlacoochee River.

– The Southwest Florida Water Management District’s Governing Board approved the recommended minimum and guidance levels for select lakes in Highlands, Pasco and Polk counties. The Highlands County lakes include Angelo, Denton, Placid, Tulane and Verona.
