The Southwest Florida Water Management District will hold a Preliminary Evaluation Committee Meeting on Tuesday, October 15, at 3:00 p.m. (local time) to evaluate responses to ITN 23-4194 Deferred Compensation 457(b) and Roth Plan Administration. The committee members will discuss their review of the responses and may select a firm to award, select firms to be shortlisted for further evaluation, or reject all responses. 

The District recently completed the next phase of the Hunters Cove Restoration Project in Citrus County. Lush mats of eelgrass were transferred to Hunters Cove and placed on the bottom of the cove in sections, similar to planting sod on land. The District had been growing the mats of eelgrass in ponds at the Duke Energy Mariculture Center in Crystal River.  The mats were recently rolled up and transported to the cove, where a dive team carefully placed the… Read more

Terra Ceia Preserve State Park will become habitat for many threatened animals, thanks to its recently completed restoration efforts. Environmental Concern An Oldsmar Boy Scout was recently honored by the Pinellas-Anclote River Basin Board for his work on a project at the Brooker Creek Preserve. Mark Brandon of Troop 64 of Oldsmar designed and created self-guided tour material for one of the nature trails in the preserve.
