Twelve grants were awarded Districtwide this year for a total of $50,319. This is the 15th year "Community Education Grants":http://www.WaterMatters.org/CommunityGrants have been available. These grants help fund projects that provide communities an opportunity to learn about water resources.

The overall goal of the Community Education Grant program is to actively engage adults in water-related issues including conservation, protection and preservation. The program motivates communities to get involved in protecting their water resources through various educational activities.

The *City of Bushnell* received a $4,988 grant to give water conservation kits to 200 municipal water customers to educate them about how water use affects the environment and how installing high-efficiency devices will save water and money.

The kits include a low-flow hose nozzle, hose timer, hose repair kit, rain gauge, faucet repair kit, faucet drip counter, high-efficiency showerhead and aerators. Household water use will be compared to one year prior to installing the conservation items to determine water savings.
