Public Invited to Open House to Help Develop Flood Information for the Peck Sink Watershed

News Release

The "Southwest Florida Water Management District(Southwest Florida Water Management District)":/ is gathering information to improve identification of flooding risks and to evaluate stormwater improvements for the Peck Sink watershed in Hernando County.

The District is asking for help from residents with identifying local flood risks and stormwater issues. If residents have any knowledge of flooding and/or stormwater issues in the area (experiences or photos) or have any flood-related documents (elevation certificates, survey data, plans) they are encouraged to attend the Peck Sink open house. The information will be used to identify areas of flood risk, which are based on watershed boundaries.

The open house for residents who own property in the Peck Sink watershed will be held *April 19*, beginning at *4 p.m.* at District Headquarters, 2379 Broad Street, Brooksville. District representatives will be available to meet with residents anytime between *4 and 6:30 p.m.* and will provide information on flood protection, permitting, sinkholes, stormwater improvements and water conservation.

This information is being developed as part of the Peck Sink watershed management plan. The plan is cooperatively funded by the District, Hernando County and the City of Brooksville.
