What:“Go Green See Green” workshop. These organizations have come together for the first time to educate members of the hotel/motel and restaurant industries on free programs they can take advantage of to conserve water, energy and other resources in their businesses. The workshop will feature lunch presentations and in-depth information sessions. Staff members from the District’s Water Conservation Hotel And Motel Program (C.H.A.M.P.) will present attendees with strategies that can save thousands of gallons of water each year.
When:Tuesday, April 10, 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Where:Tradewinds Island Grand Beach Resort, 5600 Gulf Blvd., St. Pete Beach. Media tours of the hotel’s environmentally-friendly efforts are available upon request.
Why:Because Florida hosts more than 85 million vacationers each year, the restaurant and lodging industries are major water users and prime targets to implement “green” practices that will save water and energy while also saving the establishments money.
