The Southwest Florida Water Management District’s Governing Board recognized Tony Gilboy, the District’s well construction regulation manager, today for the award he received from the Florida Ground Water Association (FGWA) for his outstanding service to the association.
The award was presented to Gilboy at the recent FGWA Convention and Trade Show in Orlando.
Gilboy was honored for his outstanding contributions to the well industry. His contributions include the development of a state-wide permit application and completion report, significant input in the development of an electronic on-line permitting system and facilitating the District’s Well Drillers Advisory Committee meetings.
Gilboy has also worked with industry representatives to provide a training curriculum for new contractors through the International School of Well Drilling.
Gilboy is recognized as a visionary within the industry and is a routine speaker at seminars, meetings and tradeshows. He has presented at the annual meetings of the National Ground Water Association, the Florida Ground Water Association, the American Ground Water Trust, the Florida Department of Health and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.
This is the second time Gilboy has been honored by the FGWA for his exceptional contributions to the water well industry.
