The Southwest Florida Water Management District’s Governing Board will hold its monthly meeting on Wednesday, May 20 at the Highlands County Government Center, 600 S. Commerce Avenue in Sebring.
The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. The Governing Board will elect members to serve as chair, vice chair, secretary and treasurer. Officers elected will serve a one-year term.
On Tuesday, May 19, the Governing Board will visit Lallymix Blueberry Farm in Hardee County. The farm participated in the District’s Facilitating Agricultural Resource Management Systems (FARMS) program. Board members will see how the program helped the farm reduce groundwater pumping.
The Governing Board typically meets on the last Tuesday of the month. This month the meeting is being held on Wednesday before the Memorial Day holiday weekend.
