District reminds growers to return conservation credit forms

News Release

The Southwest Florida Water Management District wants to remind members of the agricultural community who hold water use permits to complete and return the annual crop reporting forms, which were mailed this week.

The reports, which are a condition of a water use permit, are also used to help calculate the correct annual conservation credits that each permit holder has earned. Conservation credits allow permit holders to use additional irrigation quantities during dry conditions.

Please remember to include all of the required information. Incomplete forms cannot be processed and conservation credits cannot be assigned.

If there have been no changes from the previous crop reporting form, please check the box indicating no changes.

The reporting forms are due by March 10.

Please contact the nearest District service office with any questions: Bartow 800-492-7862; Sarasota 800-320-3503; Tampa 800-836-0797 or the District’s main office in Brooksville 1-800-423-1476. Please direct your questions to each office’s water use permitting section.
