James Holton of St. Petersburg is the president and owner of JWH Properties, Inc., MHH Enterprises, Inc. and James W. Holton, P.A.

Holton was appointed to the Governing Board in February 2023, and his term expires March 1, 2026.

Holton is Of Counsel at Hall Booth Smith, PC in St. Petersburg, Florida. He is the President and Owner of Holton Companies, which develops and invests in real estate projects throughout the state of Florida. He is also an attorney and fundraiser for numerous public causes.

He was previously appointed to and served as chair person of the Florida Transportation Commission, director of Enterprise Florida, Inc., Citizens Property Insurance Corporation Board of Governors, and chair person of the Tampa Bay Area Regional Transit Authority.

He has also served on the board of the University of South Florida’s Center for Urban Transportation Research, Pinellas County’s Police Athletic League and the Pinellas County Economic Development Council. Nationally, he is the long-term past chair person of the Board for the Drug Free America Foundation, and he serves on several local civic and charitable boards.

He earned his bachelor’s degree from Stanford University and his master's degree and juris doctor from Boston University.

Holton represents Pinellas County.
