The District is developing operational guidelines for selected flood control and lake water conservation systems. These procedures serve as general guidelines for the routine operation of the structures, such as when water is released. They may be modified, as necessary, to ensure the environmental health, recreational and aesthetic value of the lakes, or in response to specific weather events or conditions.
Each structure’s operational guidelines will be developed by technical staff. Public input on final guidelines will be considered when comments are received. Annually, final guidelines may be revised in response to public input or observed conditions following the adoption of the guidelines.
The guidelines will be completed in phases. The following is a list of guidelines as well as a list scheduled for completion.
The District accepts public comments on structure operational guidelines. Public comments on guidelines may be submitted at any time and will be considered during annual reviews.
