Homeowners/Community Associations

community

The District supports specialized assistance on Florida-friendly landscaping to community and condominium association boards and property managers through Florida Yards & Neighborhoods (FYN) programs in Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas and Polk and Sarasota counties. FYN programs in Charlotte, Citrus, Hernando, Manatee, and Marion and Sarasota counties and The Villages in Sumter County focus on education to homeowners but also provide outreach to community and condominium association boards.

Outreach by FYN community association coordinators includes landscape site visits to evaluate:

  1. Plant health and maintenance issues
  2. Opportunities to reduce water consumption
  3. Landscape design changes
  4. Landscape maintenance contracts
  5. Association deed restrictions relating to landscape issues

Following the site evaluation, a report of observations that includes recommendations for changes to the landscape is provided to the association board.
