The Community Planning Pages reflect an effort by the District to bridge two programs, the first being the Department of Economic Opportunity requirement for local governments to complete a Ten-Year Water Supply Facilities Work Plans (Work Plans) and the second being the Department of Environmental Protection requirement for water management districts to complete a Regional Water Supply Plan.
The District initiated the Community Planning Page concept to provide data in a concise format that may be used by a local government to complete their Work Plan. The Community Planning Pages incorporate the latest population projections (August 2010), water use permit data (current as of October 14, 2011), and future source options included in the updated 2010 Regional Water Supply Plan into an easy to use format. Community Planning Pages were designed and developed to allow for efficient data integration and calculations.
The District will facilitate public workshops (see calendar) to present the District tools (Work Plan checklist and template, Community Planning Pages) that are available and discuss how local governments can use these tools to complete their Work Plans.
We are currently in the process of scheduling Community Planning Pages workshops. Please check our calendar or this page for workshop scheduling. »
