As office chief of the Southwest Florida Water Management District’s new Project Management Office (PMO), James Fine is responsible for supporting the Division of Resource Management’s cooperative funding program and other District initiatives. This office was established to implement consistent, accountable and sustainable practices while aligning achievement of the District’s goals with effective project management. By evaluating and refining current practices, mapping processes and implementing project management training, the PMO will develop more efficient project management tools allowing a consistent approach to managing projects Districtwide.
Fine has been working in the water/environmental industry for more than 22 years and most recently was vice president/Tampa branch manager for Scheda Ecological Associates. He has extensive experience in project management for numerous high-profile projects, including the High Speed Rail, Florida Department of Transportation Districtwide Permitting, and a diverse number of local government projects.
Fine has a bachelor of science degree in biology from the University of South Florida.
